Having to experience bleeding, in a not-so-normal way, for 8years now alerted my curiosity on what really caused it. I was told before that its just the effect of changing hormones whenever a girl reached puberty, but I've seen my sisters go through that stage and its not the same, after a couple of doctors, couple of Q&A's, and scans, finally a light bulb appears and the result...POLYP. According to Mr. Google, An endometrial polyp or uterine polyp is a polyp or lesion in the lining of the uterus that takes up space within the uterine cavity and this condition is very common and is experienced by up to 10% of women. Sad to know that I am one of the 10% and to avoid another episode of that, a hysteroscopy needs to be done. Being in a hospital is fun. You get to eat on time, all rooms are fully air-conditioned, there are friendly nurses to take care of you, you can ask for anything and it will be gladly given. Ideally, all you need to do is sit tight, sleep and relax until your doctor gives you discharge order. Unfortunately, it's the other way around, Once you're admitted, you're already a prisoner in the building, lucky for me I can still view the outside from the window.
I'm really not scared of operations or being pricked with a needle or having to take meds every 4-6 hours everyday, what really scares me is the after effect of everything and after a successful operation and the real work began. The day right after the procedure my OB discharged me, right when we're about to leave the hospital, severe headache and nausea slaps me head on and that's when we knew that I'm suffering from spinal headache or the leakage of the spinal fluid because of the spinal anesthesia. Worst case scenario??? another 2days in the hospital with complete bed rest and flat-on bed situation, so that's no sitting or standing up to go to the bathroom when nature calls, even eating needs to be done while lying on bed, and an additional 7 liters of IV fluid. So after a total of 7days in the hospital I'm home sweet home again.. :)
